The Penguin Football Club extends our deepest sympathies to the Loane family and the Devonport Football Club on the tragic passing of Caitlyn.
Several members of our Women’s team had the privilege of being friends with this amazing young lady, one of whom is Ash Shotton, who said it especially hit home hard for her.
Unfortunately suicide has affected most of us at some point. Ash, having battled her own mental health issues of late and crediting our amazing Women’s team and the club in supporting her, was triggered to take action.
Ash has joined the ‘Clocking K’s for R U Ok’ fundraiser, and for the month of July is aiming to walk 5kms a day to raise money for the R U Ok suicide prevention foundation.
On the 31st of July, our Women’s team will be playing in Ulverstone and our Senior men will be playing at home, so upon the completion of the Women’s game in the morning, Ash will be walking from Ulverstone and back to our home ground to try to raise as much awareness and money for the cause.
Your donations can be made through the link below, or on the day with collection tins around the club.
Ash thanks everyone for their support, and asks that you all please check in on your mates.
