The Penguin Football Club would like to extend our condolences to the Franklin Family as we mourn the passing of former President and Player Bob Franklin.
Bob was a hardworking and dedicated President of the Club in 1969 and 1970.
Bob was a well respected and valued Football Club icon, as well as being an intrinsic part of the Franklin family dynasty at the Club.
Bob’s mother Marje, a Life Member of the Penguin was an integral part of the PFC ladies committee for many years and his two brothers Mick and Tony played here with great distinction. (Tony was a Tassie rep who later played for South Melbourne and Sydney then went on to be chairman of selectors and coach of the club)
Bob had strong sporting ties with the local Basketball and Bowls community and will be truly missed.
The Franklin name will be forever etched in the annals of the Penguin Football Club, and today you will find Bob’s grandson Anderson running around in the Two Blues guernsey for the juniors in the Under 12’s.
We send our sympathies to wife, Lyn and kids Gail, Roberta, Rachael, Jodie and families.
